How to craft a message that matters

Hi, it's Kevin.

And I'm back!

I decided to take some time off at the end of last year due to illness and a few projects that took up a big chunk of my time. That time off extended into the festive break, and now I'm refreshed and super psyched to be back.

In the meantime, our small community has grown by 8%, which is super exciting.

But there's also been a hell of a lot change in the world.

Davos. Venezuela. The world’s first officially recognised climate refugees.

The work you do is more important than ever.

Whether you are an activist, marketer, NGO leader, founder, politician, parent, student, or just a human who cares. Your voice matters, and the world needs you.

I hope this newsletter helps you do work that changes things for the better.

Let's crack on.

Getting your message right

The number one pain I often hear from people doing meaningful work is that they don't know how to get their message out there.

I'm sure you've experienced this. You're staring at a blank page, trying to write something, swapping words, scratching your head. Each revision making it worse, and you just wish there was some way of making it all easier.

Sound familiar?

Well, there is a way of making it easier and consistent.

As I see it, many of us do know what we want to say. You know your field better than most, and your opinion is what makes you stand out.

More often than not, what keeps people stuck is a lack of clarity about their message.

It's left to chance. And messaging gets messy when there’s no structure to guide it.

Constraints amplify creativity. But without them, every new campaign, webpage and post feels like you're reinventing the wheel.

This lack of clarity doesn't just impact what you say externally. It can also seep into your team. And when this happens, it's a slippery slope to a world of organisational confusion.

A simple, repeatable framework that shapes your messaging is the antidote.

Something that outlines your beliefs, what you offer and how you speak about this to the world.

That’s what a strong messaging strategy does. It sharpens your thinking. It brings consistency across your brand. And most importantly, it makes it easier to show up, speak up, and stand out.

Start 2026 with confidence

While zodiacs are not my usual way of looking at things, 2026 is the year of the Fire Horse. This symbolises energy, passion, and transformation.

And, boy, do I feel that energy at the moment.

So if you're heading into 2026 with ambitious plans for your brand, organisation, or impact, be sure to take a moment to get your message right.

Laying the foundations now will mean that when you come to talk about it, you show up with confidence, clarity and energy.

If that sounds like something you want, I've made something to help.

It's a free, simple Brand Messaging Framework that you can work through.

Whether you're a company of one or an international team, you can use this as the basis for your brand messaging. Ultra complex, 60-page documents don't get used. This does.

Carve out some time to work on this, and I guarantee that your communications will get stronger.

If you get stuck along the way, drop me a note. I'd be happy to help.

Go change what matters,
